Bow Water & Land (BW&L) is in the beginning stages of shaping the development plan for its lands. Our goal is to involve our future neighbors, the Rocky View County (RVC) community, and others in the planning process from the beginning. To accomplish this, we are taking a phased approach.
The objectives of this phase are to:
- Formally introduce the BW&L project to RVC Council and Administration and City of Calgary Council.
- Communicate the benefits of including BW&L’s lands in the Central Springbank Area Structure Plan Review.
- Introduce and explore ideas regarding a regional servicing strategy to RVC Council and Administration and City of Calgary Council.
The objectives of this phase are to:
- Formally introduce or re-introduce the BW&L team and project to neighbors, businesses, area developers, potential partners and the broader community.
- Communicate the benefits of including BW&L’s lands in the Central Springbank Area Structure Plan Review.
- Build and maintain relationships with members of the local community by providing meaningful opportunities to get involved in the process.
- Identify, acknowledge and/or respond to questions, concerns and ideas related to the project.
- Establish methods of communication moving forward and how the community would like to participate.
- Determine potential land uses for the site through multi-stakeholder visioning workshops and Rocky View County Council.
BW&L is taking a clear, honest and multi-faceted approach to the communication and engagement strategy for the project. We will:
- Develop and sustain an effective communication process with stakeholders through the distribution of consistent and timely information.
- Provide opportunities for stakeholders to offer meaningful input regarding the project and ensure clarity is offered about what is open for input and what is non-negotiable.
- Listen to perspectives, obtain feedback and address questions, concerns and aspirations related to the project.
- Analyze input received and communicate back to stakeholders how such input was, or was not, included in project planning.
